FAIRFAX, Va. – 3,822 MMA fans filed into George Mason University’s Patriot Center Saturday night to watch “UWC 8: Judgement Day”. It was the UWC’s sixth visit to the Patriot Center and the event was also streamed live on the organization’s website www.uwcmma.com.
It is always a bonus when the main event ends up being the “fight of the night,” and that is exactly what happened as John “The Magician” Dodson went three full rounds with Jesse “The Mountain Man” Riggleman in a 125-pound match-up. Dodson out-scored Riggleman with numerous takedowns and striking to win every round and take home the unanimous decision.
Also on the card was the highly publicized UWC debut of Green Power Ranger Jason David Frank in his fourth MMA fight. Frank used all his powers to defeat Carlos Horn who out-weighed him by nearly 50 lbs. It took the Power Ranger just :24 seconds to apply an armbar and cause his evil opponent to tap out.
