On May 7, 2010, five-time World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski from Poland had his second professional mixed martial arts fight. Pudazianowski faced Japanese DEEP veteran Yusuke Kawaguchi at “KSW 13 – Kumite”.

The much more experienced Kawaguchi was 11-1 coming into the bout and although he lost a majority decision against Pudzianowski, his defense allowed him to take very little damage.

In two weeks, Pudzianowski is scheduled to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia at “Moosin: God of Martial Arts” in Worcester, Mass. First of all, it was quite an assumption on Pudzianowski’s part that he would come out of the KSW 13 fight unscathed. Fortunately for him, he should be okay to fight Sylvia. However, unfortunately for him, he should be okay to fight Sylvia.

If this fight with Kawaguchi did anything, it showed how green Pudz really is. There is no way in hell he’s ready for a Tim Sylvia, especially if Tim is in shape. If the old Tim Sylvia shows up, the one who can stand in the center of the cage and throw solid technical punches, he likely will knock out Pudz as he has predicted.

Pudz’s striking looks little better than someone in a strong man competition. If Sylvia can keep from getting put on his back, he should have no problem with Pudz. And if Pudz is foolish enough to think he can stand and trade shots with Sylvia, it is going to be a short night for him.
