On Friday, heavyweight Aleksander Emelianenko returned to action. He took on Eddy Bengtsson at a ProFC event in Moscow. Bengtsson represented Sweden in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, and he is a training partner of UFC light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson. He came into the bout with a 3-1 record.

Commentary
Clearly Bengtsson does not have the best chin in the world. Since he retired from wrestling, he probably does not have a lot left in tank physically. Emelianenko is just clearly better than anyone he can fight on the Easteran European scene. If he can get his health issues figured out, he should be back in the U.S. as soon as possible.
A lot of people were saying this was either a)a work b)dude took a dive c)he just wanted a way out. Even with replays it’s pretty hard to tell what happened.
I don’t see AE involved with any sort of set up with his fights, but clearly something is amiss here.
maybe he got his nose broke, but it barely looked like he got touched.
If he wasn’t out, he did a good job faking it. The woman slapping him at the end is classic.
I’m still undecided on this thing. Looked damn weird I know that.
To me it looked like a possible eye poke. Eddy wipes his eyes as if he was poked then dropped to the canvas as to say to ref I got poked. But what I don’t understand is that he seems limp when he dropped. Did he hit his head on the way down? Have no idea but it was the weirdest thing I have to agree.
