Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Jimmy Ambriz

Round 1 – Minowa shoots in for a takedown and it is stuffed. He pulls half guard and Ambriz lands a few light shots. Ambriz uses his weight and passes to side control. It is short lived as Minowa regains half guard. Minowa gives up his back and tries to stand. Ambriz picks up his smaller opponent and slams him back to the mat. Minowa stays on all fours and is ridden for a few seconds. He rolls to his back and Ambriz tries an arm-triangle choke but gives it up. Minowa gets back to his knees and tries to roll for a leg lock, but Ambriz circles away. He works from the riding time position and the referee warns him for shots to the back of the head. Minowa tries to roll for a leg again, but fails. He continues to take shots from Ambriz, but the shots don’t seem to have much power. Minowa rolls to his back and then back to his gut. Ambriz continues to work hammer fists, but there have little power. Minowa gets to his feet and gets returned to the canvass again. The referee restarts the fight standing and gives Minowa a yellow card. The fighters are hesitant to engage. Ambriz initiates a clinch and pushes Minowa to the ropes. The smaller fighter avoids a knee and circles away. Minowa lands a leading left and the fighters brawl, but nothing lands clean. Another left lands for Minowa. He jumps in with another and lands. Ambriz is visibly winded. Minowa lands a jab. The fighters circle and Minowa lands a looping right. The round ends.

Round 2 – Minowa goes back to the lead left to start the second round. Ambriz circles into a right hook. Minowa throws a three-punch combination and all the strikes miss. Ambriz rushes Minowa into the ropes, but can’t control him. Minowa lands two hard right hands. Ambriz bullies Minowa into the corner and scores a double leg takedown. Minowa locks in a half guard and the referee restarts them in the center. Ambriz moves to mount and takes the back. Minowa reverses the position into Ambriz’s half guard. Minowa falls back for a toe hold. Ambriz fishes around for a second, but eventually taps out.

Katsunori Kikuno vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka

Round 1 – Kikuno starts stalking his opponent. He throws a two-punch combination and then lands a body kick. The fighters clinch but there is no action and they are reset. Kikuno lands another kick and ends up in another clinch. Kikuno seperates. Hironaka responds with a right hand of his own. Kikuno lands a kick to the liver and then a right hand that ends the fight.

Cole Escovedo vs. Yoshiro Maeda

Round 1 – Escovedo throws a right that doesn’t land. Both fighters try high kicks. Maeda tries an upper cut, but it is short. He counters a kick and lands a hard hook. Maeda lands a hard upper cut and then a hook. Escovedo tries to back up and throw kicks. Maeda appears to have caught a toe in the eye, so the referee brings in the doctor. The fight is restarted. Escovedo goes back to the kic, but it is short. Maeda is wading in with combinations, but he does not have the reach. He misses with punches, but lands a jumping knee. Huge upper cut from Maeda catches nothing but air. Escovedo lands a kick to the inside thigh and then a second one to the head. Maeda is out cold and stiff.

Ryo Chonan vs. Andrews Nakahara

Round 1 – The two keep their distance as the round starts. Chonan lands a few hard hooks down the pipe. Nakahara works his karate kicks and lands a few to the body and legs. He comes into with a flurry but falls to the ground. Chonan pounces on top. Once there is lands a few shots and works mostly from half guard. He traps Nakahara’s arm in a crucifix position, but is not able to finish the fight. Eventually the referee restarts the fight on the feet. The fighters trade a few combinations to finish the round.

Round 2 – The fighters start to exchange late in the round. Nakahara is certainly getting the better of the exchanges. He lands several hard knees from the clinch, but Chonan does not stop throwing. Another hard knee lands for Nakahara and Chonan does for a desperation shot. He catches hold of a single leg. He make it a double leg and slams Nakahara down into side control. Chonan works knee on belly position and then transitions into the mount. Nakahara clinches Chonan’s torso so he can’t create the distance to strike. The round ends with Chonan working hammer fists to the head.

K.J. Noons vs. Andre “Dida” Amade

Round 1 – Dida starts the fight off with a kick to the groin. After the fight is restarted Dida kicks the inside leg. Noons tries to work a jab to the body. Dida goes for a jumping kick, but it doesn’t land. Noons goes back to the jab to the gut. He doubles up the jab to the head. Dida starts working the outside of Noons’ lead leg. Dida comes over the top with a right, but it does not seem to bother Noons. He follows up a jab with a hook to the body. Another hard shot to the body from Noons. Dida comes in with an upper cut, but does not land the strike. Noons lands a hard upper cut to the body. Noons misses with a right and then lands a nice left. He eats a few leg kicks, but then chases Dida away with some body shots. As the round goes on, Noons is starting to control the fight. Dida is covering up and backing up, Noons’ pace is very deliberate. Dida lands two stiff counter shots after the referee warns them to pick up the pace. Noons continues to work the body as the round ends.

Round 2 – Dida goes for a flying kick to start the round but it hits nothing. He goes for a spinning back gets but misses again. He throws a hard leg kick and it is checked by Noons. With Dida in the corner Noons throws four to the body, but Dida counters with a knee. Dida lands a few jabs of his own. Noons is starting to get a little bit more daring with his combinations and at the same time starts eating straight counters from Dida. Noons throws more combinations and Dida starts mocking him. Despite the mocking Dida is still circling away from action. Noons is just throwing two-punch combinations and Dida is backing up in a circle. Noons throws a jumping knee this time.

Josh Barnett vs. Siala “Mighty Mo” Siliga

Round 1 – Both fighters stay at range to start the fight. Barnett tries a few leg kicks and then a clinch. Barnett tries to clinch, and it is shrugged off. Mighty Mo catches Barnett and drops him. Mo rushes in, and Barnett shoots. Mo sprawls and they stand. Barnett presses Mo into the corner and tries to lock up a body lock. The referee breaks the fighters. Barnett tries another leg kick and almost eats an upper cut. He drops levels, but his takedown is shrugged off. Both fighters kick at the same time and Mo eats one to the groin. Mo is down and in a lot of pain. After a ridiculously long recovery period Mo will continue fighting. Barnett rushes in and is backed up with big swings from Mo. Barnett goes for a double but it is stuffed by Mo. He tries a head kick and it is easily blocked. Leading left lands for Mo. Knee to the body from Barnett. Barnett gets a double and picks him up and finishes the takedown. Once the fight is on the ground Barnett locks on a Kimura and it is over.

Bibiano Fernandes vs. Joachim Hansen

Round 1 – Hansen eats a few leg kicks to start the fight. He throws his on towards the inside leg. Fernandes goes high and scores a quick double leg takedown. He stands over his opponent, and Hansen scrambles back to his feet. Hansen comes in and Fernandes counters with a body lock. He holds Hansen against the ropes until they are separated. Hansen lands body kick and a jab. Fernandes lands two counter right hands. Fernandes gets another body lock and drags Hansen down. Hansen is able to secure half guard. Fernandes passes to side control, but Hansen scrambles back to his feet. Hansen lands a hard outside leg kick. They trade clinch knees and Fernandes gets another body lock along the ropes. Fernandes easily scores a double leg takedown. Hansen works leg kicks as Fernandes stands over him and eventually stands up. A double jumping knee lands for Fernandes. Hansen starts to get comfortable with some leg kicks and a jab, but then Fernandes lands a hard right that stuns Hansen. Fernandes gets a body lock but can’t finish the takedown.

Round 2 – Hansen starts things off with a leg kick. Another double leg takedown for Fernandes. The fighters scramble back to their feet and Fernandes just misses a knee. Fernandes gets back on top, but Hansen is able to defend and get back to his feet again. Hansen lands some hard knees. Fernandes goes for the takedown again, but can’t finish. The referee separates the fighters. Hansen lands an upper cut that excites the crowd, but Fernandes clinches him up. Fernandes scores a takedown and takes side control. Hansen scrambles back to his feet and lands a few knees in the clinch. Hansen goes for a knee, but eats a front kick.
