ProMMAnow.com reporter and The Cageside Beat host Brian Furby caught up with WEC lightweight prospect Anthony Njokuani (12-2) at the 2010 Arnold’s Sports Festiaval last week.

Njokuani is coming off a big knockout victory over Chris Horodecki at WEC 45 back in December. Njokuani admitted that being a guest on The Cageside Beat just before his fight actually gave him the good luck that caused him to win his fight with Horodecki. Once more fighters come to realize this, and will be honest with themselves and admit it, the evolution of MMA will be able to continue as it should.

Njokuani will be stepping back in the WEC cage on April 24 against Shane Roller (7-2). Roller is coming off back-to-back wins over Marcus Hicks and Danny Castillo. His only loss in the UFC came against Benson Henderson in April of last year. It’s an interesting match-up between Roller and Njokuani because Njokuani’s only loss in the WEC is also to Benson Henderson.

“WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” will take place on April 24 at Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif. The event will mark the WEC’s first ever pay-per-view.
