Contrary to a prior report, Cantwell has not been removed from the UFC 108 card.

Contrary to a report published earlier today, UFC fighter (and recent guest on The Cageside Beat) Steve Cantwell has not been officially removed from this weekend’s UFC 108 card.

Speaking exclusively to ProMMA.info, KO Reps (Cantwell’s agent) confirmed after speaking to Cantwell’s manager that Cantwell has not been removed from the card. While not elaborating on the undisclosed issues that allegedly took Cantwell off the card, KO Reps released this brief statement to ProMMA.info:

“Steve Cantwell is not officially off the card. There has been a minor issue and we hope it will be resolved in the morning. Steve is still training and preparing for the bout. As always, special thanks to Steve’s sponsors Jaco, Silver Star, GammaO, Hayabusa and Punch Drunk Gamer.”

Hopefully, the UFC 108 curse will not end up striking Cantwell. His fight against Matyushenko is a very intriguing matchup, and I hope these issues get resolved.
