MEMPHIS, Tenn. – “UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez” was the second visit for the UFC to the state of Tennessee and the first visit by the organization to the city of Memphis, with a reported 13,896 fans packed into the FedExForum.
UFC president Dana White reported the attendance numbers at the event’s post-fight press conference and also confirmed a gate of “over $1.5 million” for “UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez.”
The night’s action packed card, featured a main event between UFC Lightweight champion B.J. Penn and challenger Diego Sanchez, with a co-main event bout between Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo.
The numbers will be certified later next week by the Tennessee State Athletic Commission.
