MFC 23 airs on HDNet this Friday.

DALLAS (December 1, 2009) HDNet will feature LIVE coverage of “HDNet Fights Presents: Maximum Fighting Championship 23 – Unstoppable” from the River Cree Resort and Casino – just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – on Friday December 4 at 10 p.m. ET.

The main event of the evening is considered by many to be one of the more intriguing match-ups of the month and features UFC veterans and jiu-jitsu specialists Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister (11-6) meeting Thales Leites (14-3).

Both men are looking to establish themselves as contenders for the currently vacant MFC Middleweight title. Lister posted a 4-2 mark in the UFC, while Leites went 5-1 in the UFC before losing a decision after five grueling rounds with Anderson Silva.

“HDNet comes through big this weekend with Lister-Leites in Canada and then hours later the K-1 Finals from Japan,” said Andrew Simon, CEO of HDNet Fights. “Put back an energy drink and stay up late as we go all over the globe to bring you the best action on your home for MMA!”

In other middleweight action, Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald (21-13) faces “King” Solomon Hutcherson (11-5) and Art “Pachuco” Santore (18-6) meets Bryan “The Beast” Baker (10-1).

Also on the LIVE broadcast, Ryan Jimmo (11-1) takes on Emanuel Newton (12-5-1), Dwayne Lewis (9-4) squares off with Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman (16-11), and Joe Christopher (9-2) meets Jesse Juarez (11-5).
