Three fighters did not make weight. Anthony Johnson weighed in at 176 lbs., a whopping five pounds over the 171 lbs. welterweight (non-title fight) limit, while his opponent Yoshiyuki Yoshida was right on the mark at 170 lbs. Yoshida agreed to fight Johnson at his current weight.

Fight Forecast – Dream 12, UFC 104, Carolina Fight, Shogun Fights and Extreme Beatdown Picks

The who will beat Eddie Alvarez
The who will beat Eddie Alvarez

Last week I went 4-3 (1NC) which is by far my worst week of picking in history. However, the real shock in that Sean Salmon actually won a fight. My overall record is now 124-59 (16NC) which is an all time low 68 percent. This weekend there is a ton of quality MMA, and I will do my best to fill you in on the happenings. Today we take a look at Dream 12, the UFC 104 under card and an up and coming female fighter.

Dream 12
Eddie Alvarez (18-2) vs. Katsunori Kikuno (12-1-2)

It should not be difficult for Eddie Alvarez to take down Katsunori Kikuno and win via ground and pound. However, what is the chance of that happening? Alvarez has always showed his love for the stand up game, and his ability to get caught. He will come out like a ball of fire and continually catch hard single shots from Kikuno. Kikuno will be able to win the decision by landing more solid shots and keeping a safe distance.
Pick = Katsunori Kikuno

Dana White – “Roy Nelson is a moron”

UFC President Dana White had some interesting things to say about not only The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights cast, but about Roy Nelson in particular. First, White forgets Nelson’s name and refers to him as “the bodybuilder,” then proceeds to call him as a “complete idiot,” “Jackass,” and “moron.” “Interview him sometime and you’ll see what I’m talking about,” White says.

Many have suspected Nelson was one of the TUF 10 finalists, but one would not think a promoter would say something like this about one of his fighters who will be fighting on the TUF 10 Finale card right? That is probably not the best way to promote a guy who could potentially be the next “Ultimate Fighter.”

Chad George’s “Road to Japan” blog day 8 – hard training

Projekt Label fighter Chad “Savage” George (10-4) was recently invited to Japan to train with the camp of Japanese Shooto legend Rumina Sato. Being that Chad has a fight coming up on Nov. 14 against Greg Guzman at “Called Out MMA 2,” he saw this as the perfect opportunity to train with some of the top lighter weight fighters in the world, and as a special treat for us he is keeping a blog of his trip. Be sure to check back each day to see how things are going with Chad during this very unique experience.

Day 8

As the trip grows closer to the end, the training picks up. Today we slept in a bit and then had a light breakfast before going to Roots gym. Once at the gym we had some coffee and then I geared up for my solo run!

Taiki stayed at the gym while I took off for a nice long distance run around the city of Odawara. I believe in all, it was about a 10k run!
