LONG BEACH, Calif. – Grapplers Quest, “The World’s Largest Grappling Competition,” is hosting The 2009 West Coast Submission Grappling and Jiu Jitsu Championships on Saturday, October 10, at California State University-Long Beach’s Pyramid.

Grapplers Quest helps raise funds for Autism Awareness, Education and Treatments at each competition nationwide. One dollar from each ticket sold and competitor is donated to help support alternative Autism Biomedical Treatments and goes towards a direct donation to Autism Speaks, to commemorating the grappling community’s support.

Grappling is the ground fighting art of Mixed Martial Arts, combining the throws of Olympic Judo, takedowns of Wrestling, Leg Locks from Sambo, and other Submissions from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu like arm-bars, shoulder locks and chokes. Competitors of all ages and skill levels participate in the event and it is open to all grappling styles to determine the best grapplers in the Western United States.

Bas Rutten, former UFC Heavyweight Champion and Pancrase Legend, will be in attendance to meet and greet with fans for photos, signings and to help support Autism Awareness and Fundraising.
