Jesse "JT Money" Taylor takes on Luke Rockhold Nov. 6 in Fresno.

On Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, Strikeforce – Challenger Series 4 will take place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. and air live on Showtime. In addition to the main event between Billy Evangelista and Jorge Gurgel, The Ultimate Fighter 7 finalist Jesse Taylor (13-4) will be taking on Strikeforce submission expert Luke Rockhold (5-1).

PROMMA.INFO confirmed the bout on Tuesday with sources close to the fighters’ camps and both fighters announced the fight on their Facebook accounts today.

Taylor made his Strikeforce debut in August against Xtreme Couture “Thoroughbred” Jay Hieron. Taylor was on a seven fight win streak going into the fight but lost a unanimous decision after three hard rounds.

Rockhold is currently on a four fight win streak. His most recent bout was a second round rear-naked choke victory over Cory Devela at Strikeforce – Challenger Series 2 back in June. It took Rockhold only 30 seconds to force Devela to give up. Rockhold has five wins, five submissions, all ending within the first round.

A few other names rumored for the Nov. 6 card include Casey “The Underdog” Olson, Ben Holscher, Anthony Ruiz, Cole Escovedo, and Zoila Frausto.

It is interesting to note the Strikeforce – Challenger Series 4 card will take place just one day prior to Srikeforce’s “Fedor vs. Rogers” card set for Nov. 7 in Chicago and broadcasting live on CBS.
