Gina Carano will take a break from fighting to star in 'Knockout.'

I know we were all hoping for Gina Carano to make an instant comeback from her loss to Cris Cyborg; but as my momma always says, “You can want in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up faster.”

What does this mean? It means Gina will not be in the cage for quite awhile. Instead, she has signed a deal to star in Steven Soderbergh’s newest flick Knockout. With plans to begin production in late January and filming to take place in Ireland, Turkey, and the US, Gina will be pretty tied up for the next year and a half.

To paraphrase Variety: Knockout is based on a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who uses her fighting skills to turn her life around. I have often heard it said that life imitates art but in this case, not so much. Gina is the daughter of NFL quarterback Glenn Carano. Something tells me she didn’t grow up on 8 mile road with Marshall Mathers.

According to Variety this film is La Femme Nikita meets James Bond. Internet junkies are saying they’re excited to see what Gina brings to the movie screen (especially if it’s T&A).

Gina has familiarity with television and movies but has no real acting experience per se. This shouldn’t be a problem for her as she’s working with a director who’s known for turning actors into superstars (think Andie McDowell, Albert Finney and Jennifer Lopez).

Besides, every sexually active woman in the world has some “acting” experience, right? Good luck Gina!
