Here are a few highlights from the call (after the jump):

On Friday, Nick Diaz did not show up for his pre-fight medicals. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said he talked with the commission and Diaz would be allowed to take the test in Los Angeles on Monday. He was originally scheduled to be on the conference call but is supposed to be en route to Los Angeles for his medicals.

Reports are coming in that the CASC has not heard from Diaz today and the chances that he will be fighting on Saturday look very slim at this point.

Jay Hieron will be fighting even if Nick Diaz is not cleared by the commission. Coker would not say who Hieron’s opponent would be if Diaz is not allowed to fight.

The CSAC gave Nick a second chance to take his medicals because they understood it was a big fight for Strikeforce.

Coker said the situation with Diaz and having to have his pre-fight medicals rescheduled (and the possibility he may not be cleared) is a frustrating situation all the way around.

Tonight on SHO 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT Gina Carano will kick off a week special featuring past Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos fights.

10,000-13,000 people are expected to attend the live card at the HP Pavilion on Aug. 15.

Coker said if Nick Diaz does not take his pre-fight medicals they would promote him again, however, they would have to sit down and have a talk with all parties involved.

Gegard Mousasi- “It’s a good looking belt. It will look very good on my wall.”

“This is a historical night for female mixed martial arts.” -Scott Coker
