According to people within the fighter’s camp, Tim McKenzie will replace Ricardo Barros against Scott Lighty at Strikeforce “Carano vs. Cyborg” on Aug. 15.

Although not yet officially announced, PRO MMA (promma.info) can report that Barros was forced to withdraw from the fight, and McKenzie was able to step into the fight on short notice. The fight will mark McKenzie’s Strikeforce debut after fighting in promotions such as the UFC, WEC, and Bodog Fight and compiling a 12-6 professional record along the way.

Strikeforce “Carano vs. Cyborg” will be headlined by four promotional title fights. Gina Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos vie for the 145-pound women’s title. Mitsuhiro Ishida challenges Gilbert Melendez for the interim lightweight title. Renato Sobral defends his light heavyweight title against Gegard Mousasi. Jay Hieron and Nick Diaz will also face off for the promotion’s inaugural welterweight title.
