On June 10, 2006 Gina Carano entered the cage for her first ever professional MMA fight. It was the first sanctioned women’s MMA fight in Nevada. Gina took on Leiticia Pestova and put on a first round ground and pound beat down clinic, and just like that, a star was born.

Fast-forward three years and six fights later and Gina Carano remains undefeated at 7-0. On Aug. 15, 2009 she will face the toughest opponent of her career as she battles Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos for the undisputed Strikeforce 145 lbs. women’s title.

You will notice in this video walking out with Gina is none other than her old flame and trainer Kit Cope. You will remember Cope as the guy who recently stated he had a sex tape with Gina (then later said he was joking) and also talked trash about Gina’s current striking coach Shawn Tompkins and Xtreme Couture.
