During a Monday press conference, new South Korean promotion Fighting Mixed Combative announced that former PRIDE star Igor Vovchanchyn will make his return for the promotion in September.

FMC has already made noise in the international MMA community by signing DREAM Super Hulk GP fighter Jan Nortje, Mikhail Malyutin, Julia Berezikova, and Fedor’s youngest brother Ivan Emelianenko. Rumors have also circulated that Combat Sambo World Champion Blagoi Ivanov will take on Aleksander Emelianenko.

Vovchanchyn has not fought since an August 2005 loss to Kazuhiro Nakamura on PRIDE – Final Conflict 2005. He currently carries a 47-8-1 record, which includes victories over Mark Kerr, Gilbert Yvel, and Kazushi Sakuraba. The most notable accomplishment of his career came in 2000, when he made it all the way to the finals of PRIDE inaugural Grand Prix before losing to Mark Coleman.
