Hold on to your hats, the legendary street-fighting legend and Youtube sensation Kimbo Slice will be appearing as a contestant on THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER SEASON 10 according to a Yahoo Sports exclusive from Kevin Iole published late Monday night.
From day one UFC President Dana White has mocked Kevin Ferguson a.k.a. Kimbo Slice and has stated the only way he would ever be allowed into the UFC is if he won his way into the organization as a contestant on THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER. Did White ever think Kimbo would ever actually take the bait?
It is hard to say, nevertheless, Kimbo will be one of sixteen heavyweight contestants competing for a six-figure contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Combined with the fact Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and “Sugar” Rashad Evans will be the coaches on TUF 10, and the season has the potential to garner the highest ratings the show has ever seen.
Dana White at least sees the irony of it all. “It should be interesting, given some of the things I’ve said about him,” White said. White would say little else about the situation and is saving most of the details it seems for an upcoming TUF 10 press conference scheduled for next Tuesday.
Iole is also reporting the sixteen fighters on TUF 10 will not have to fight their way into the house but have already been chosen and will move straight in. White and the UFC have been trying to keep the names of the contestants secret, saving them to unveil at the press conference.
Just for kicks we will give you one more name guaranteed to be in the house… Justin Wren. And make no mistake, he would mop the floor with Kimbo Slice.
The premiere of THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER SEASON 10 will air on SPIKE TV September 16, 2009 and will conclude on December 5th in Las Vegas with two heavyweight finalists battling it out inside the Octagon.
