PRO MMA (promma.info) had the unique pleasure of speaking with War Machine this past weekend. He has a fight coming up on April 25th in the UWC so we wanted to catch up with the TUF veteran, see how his training was coming along, what he has been up to, as well as future plans.

War Machine talked to us about a number of topics including his upcoming opponent, training partners, recent legal issues, Dana White, the UFC, women, life in Vegas, his first exposure to MMA, military school, and much more.

One of the best things about MMA are the fighters themselves and the personalities behind the persona. Bobby Lashley vs Bob Sapp – “Ultimate Chaos” full fight card announced (Tom Atencio to fight)

PRO MMA (http://promma.info) recently learned, from Ricky H. Derouen, President of Fight Force Intl. that his company has partnered with Prize Fight Promotions to present “Ultimate Chaos” in Biloxi, Mississippi. The star studded event will take place on June 27th at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

“We are co-promoting the event [along with Prize Fight Promotions]. Our organization has promoted 15 MMA events successfully in the Southeast. We are partnering with Prize Fight to bring the events to the next level.” Said Derouen.

The PPV card’s main event will be the widely reported match of Bobby Lashley going against Bob “The Beast” Sapp. Also on the main card will be former UFC heavyweight champion Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo going up against former Pride veteran Gilbert Yvel. Also on the PPV card is Chris Horodecki vs William Sriyapai and Brett Cooper vs Waachim Spiritwolf, who is a teamate of jiu-jitsu ace Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister.

“XFC 8: Regional Conflict” airs live from Knoxville on HDNet this Saturday, April 25

PRO MMA (promma.info) will be making the trek to Knoxville, Tennessee this weekend in our continuing effort to bring you, our readers, the highest quality MMA coverage possible.

Two months ago, on February 20th, the Xtreme Fighting Championships made MMA history when they came to Knoxville and put on the first ever legally sanctioned professional MMA card in Tennessee history.

On Saturday, April 25th, Xtreme Fighting Championships will make history again as they return to the Volunteer State to hold “XFC 8: Regional Conflict.” It will be the first ever MMA event in Tennessee to be broadcast on HDNet. The action takes place at the Thompson-Boling Arena beginning at 7:00pm ET and the live HDNet broadcast starts at 9:00pm ET.

Team England set to make M-1 Challenge debut on April 29 in Tokyo, Japan

On Wednesday, April 29 at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan, Team England will make its debut during the 2009 “M-1 Challenge presented by Affliction.”

Leading Team England will be Andy Lillis, the Director of Warrior Promotions. He had this to say, “I think (the M-1 Challenge is a) great concept and I think the British fighters and fans will embrace it with open arms. England has a history of getting behind our national teams and I know the guys are looking forward to fighting in Japan, as they have always wanted to fight out there.”

Bobby Lashley to fight Bob Sapp

According to a recent update on his Twitter.com page, former WWE star Bobby Lashley has signed an agreement to fight former Pride behemoth, Bob “The Beast” Sapp. The bout is reportedly set to take place on June 27 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi, and will be promoted by Prize Fight Promotions.

Lashley, now 2-0 in his young MMA career, most recently won a unanimous decision over Jason Guida, at “March Badness” in Pensacola, Florida. His first fight was a 41 second destructive TKO victory over MMA rookie Joshua Franklin at “Mixed Fighting Alliance: Bad Blood”.

Bob Sapp is a giant, both literally and figuratively, in the Japanese fight scene. The 300 plus pound Sapp has fought in Strikeforce, Pride, and K-l, and has amassed a 10-3-1 record. Sapp was victorious in his last fight over a masked Akihito Tanaka, and has won five of his last six bouts.

Grapple against autism May 9 in Las Vegas

Jonathan Cimins, nephew of Grapplers Quest founder, Brian Cimins, was diagnosed with Autism at only 18 months of age. For the last five years, the Cimins family has supported Autism Awareness and created, “Jonathan’s Team,” to help raise funds for education, treatments, and, hopefully, a cure at each Grapplers Quest Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournament nationwide.

Ed Soares defends Anderson Silva

UFC 97, which took place this past weekend, has provided plenty of topics for the blogger who is wishing to run up the number of comments on his site. Specifically, Anderson Silva’s performance against Thales Leites has come under heavy fire. Despite completely stifling his opponent’s offense and breaking the UFC record for consecutive wins, the champion has found himself in a firestorm of criticism.

Yesterday, Anderson Silva’s manager, Ed Soares was a guest on MMAJunkie Radio. He responded to many of the criticisms that have been hurled at his client.

Ed Soares wasted little time getting to the main crux of his point, “If the challenger does not come in to take the champion’s belt, then what else can the champion do?”
