Last Saturday night Lane Collier’s Extreme Fight Night put on an exciting evening of action at the Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Top class amateur mixed martial artists represented some of the best schools in the Southeast. XFN put on a professional style show that had the ‘Boro’ fight fans going crazy. A huge card of thirteen fights had some great MMA contests as well as Muay Thai and kickboxing matches.

The night started quickly as three of the first four matches were decided by submission or TKO.

Some excellent Jiu-Jitsu was displayed by Lightweight Rene Nieves (Gustavo Machado BJJ in Daytona Beach, FL). Nieves’ opponent Sean DoDaro ( Team Ground Zero in Augusta, GA) appeared to be winning the stand up exchanges in the first round. Nieves swung the momentum in the second round by gaining DoDaro’s back. He quickly sunk in a Rear Naked Choke and got the tap.

Later in the night Middleweight Joel Doak (Red Dragon MMA in Lynchburg, TN) brought a ton of fans up the road with him. You would have thought every single citizen from the home of Jack Daniel’s had made the drive, and brought some whiskey. The Coliseum erupted when Doak submitted Brian Nelson (Iron Fist Dojo in Murfreesboro, TN) in the second round by Arm Bar.

The show stopper was by far the main event. The XFN U.S. Welterweight Championship was on the line for Chris Hendry (Greubel’s MMA in Augusta, GA) and Ande Pal-Hus (Nemesis MMA in Murfreesboro, TN).

When the fight started Pal-Hus immediately found his striking range and landed a big right hand that dropped Hendry to the mat. Ande quickly gained the mount and made an attempt at an Arm Bar that Hendry defended. Once back to their feet Ande’s size and strength advantage was too much for Hendry as a barrage of knees, kicks, and punches were punctuated by a big right hand that turned Hendry’s lights out.

Ande Pal-Hus proved that he should not be overlooked. This talented young fighter is undefeated as an amateur (5-0) against some really tough guys. He is a devastating striker that looks huge for 170 pounds. Ande is teamed up with some great trainers in Danny Jones and Josh Schockman of Nemesis MMA. The future looks bright for this impressive amateur.
