PRO MMA (promma.info) has learned from various sources that Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (7-2) will meet Matt Brown (12-7) at TUF 9 finale on June 20th in Las Vegas. Originally, Johnson was slated to face John Howard, but due to undisclosed reasons, that fight fell through.

Johnson is coming off a TKO victory over Luigi Fioravanti at UFN 17. He has a UFC record of 4-2 with all of his wins coming by knockout. Johnson trains with Cung Le in San Jose, California and it shows with a striking ability that could have even top kick boxers think about  shooting in for a take down.

One fighter that just may try and bang it out with Johnson is upcoming opponent Matt Brown. Brown is coming off a quick, although bizarre, TKO stoppage of Pete Sell at UFC 96.

Brown, while not having the best overall record, seems to have found his rhythm in the UFC since appearing on The Ultimate Fighter season 7. Since then he is 3-1 in the promotion with his lone loss being a somewhat controversial decision to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 88.

Fans should be looking forward to this fight as both guys are known for a strong stand up game and their willingness to stand in the pocket and trade. The TUF 9 Finale is headlined by a lightweight fight between Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida and will take place at The Palm’s Hotel and Casino.
