“We dedicate DREAM 7 to the memory of Helio Gracie.” That is how the night began at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan early Sunday morning March 8th. The card includes the opening round of a featherweight tournament as well as some interesting individual match ups. As usual whether in the U.S., Japan, or anywhere in the world, if it is high level MMA,  PRO MMA (promma.info) has the results for you.

Abel Cullum and Joe Warren were the Americans who advanced in the Featherweight Tournament. Warren defeated another American, Chase Beebe. Tournament hopeful, Micah Miller, who is brother to UFC lightweight contender Cole Miller, adorned in long black Under Armor spats, lost a hard fought unanimous decision to Yoshiro Maeda. In one of three non-tournament bouts, WAMMA Lightweight Champion, Shinya Aoki defeated David Gardner by a first round rear naked choke. Full results after the jump…

Editor’s Note: I personally set out to do a play by play of the DREAM 7 event. However, after doing the UFC play by play, waiting a couple of hours, then starting on the DREAM play by play, I got through maybe two fights and I started falling asleep, next thing I know, I woke up sitting at my desk and it was 7am. My apologies if this inconvenienced anyone, but that is the explanation of why a ‘play by play’ turned into just ‘results.’
