WEC 39: BROWN vs GARCIA takes place on Sunday, March 1, at the America Bank Center, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The WEC has put together an eleven fight card and BetUS.com has lines on each fight. As usual, we here at PRO MMA (promma.info) will give you our ‘Best Bets’ scenario.

Right off the bat, Leonard Garcia (12-3) qualifies as a PRO MMA ‘Best Bet’. Garcia is part of Greg Jackson’s camp, he has some of the best training partners in the world and the guy is tough as nails. He’s won both of his fights at featherweight after coming into the WEC and he’s coming off a huge win against the legendary Jens Pulver (22-11-1).

Garcia’s opponent, Mike Thomas Brown (20-4), has only four losses on his record, however, they have all come by way of submission which is Garcia’s specialty. No one has EVER finished Garcia; his three losses have all come by decision and his twelve wins have all come by (T)KO or submission; not a single decision. Garcia is a finisher, in fact, in every fight Garcia has won, his opponent has not made it out of the second round. This is why Leonard Garcia over Mike Thomas Brown is a PRO MMA (promma.info) ‘Best Bet’.

The next pick that qualifies for ‘Best Bet’ status is Chris Mickle (26-11-1) over Jose Aldo (13-1). Although Aldo has only lost one fight, Mickle has faced a higher level of competition overall. The two fighters have both been fighting professionally since 2004 and Mickle has been inside the cage about three times more than Aldo. BetUS.com has Mickle as an enormous +550 underdog, with Aldo at -800.

There are few ‘absolutes’ in the world of gambling but if you were EVER in your life going to take someone’s advice on a fight, in the name of the last son of Krypton, DO NOT PLACE ANY MONEY ON ALDO! I can not always tell you who to bet on, but by golly sometimes I can tell you who NOT to bet on.

And it is not because Aldo does not have a chance to win, it is just that no one in their right mind would bet $800 just to win $100. MMA is MUCH too unpredictable to go with those kind of odds. In fact MMA is so unpredictable, that is the VERY reason it would be a good idea to be on Aldo’s opponent, Chris Mickle. With Mickle being a +550 underdog, he gets the honor of being a PRO MMA (promma.info) ‘Best Bet’.
