Although the UFC has been cleaning house lately by letting go a number of fighters, one person not on the hit list is Josh “The Dentist” Neer (25-7-1). In fact, Neer, who just dismantled ‘The Ultimate Fighter 6’ winner, Mac Danzig (18-6-1) at UFC Fight Night 17 with a dominating performance ending in a second round submission, has just signed a brand new four-fight contract with the UFC.

Neer’s manager, Mickey Dubberly Jr, gave this statement today to PRO MMA (promma.info) via email:

We are very pleased to announce that Josh Neer has inked a new 4 fight deal with the UFC. We currently do not know who Josh’s next opponent will be, but Josh will fight ANYONE the UFC puts him up against. We would like to thank the UFC for being very supportive of Josh throughout his career, and awarding his hard work with a new contract. The UFC is where Josh wants to fight, and we will let everyone know who the next opponent will be. Josh is more focused than ever and is looking forward to his next fight in the UFC. Josh wants to thank the UFC, family, friends, fans, and training partners for helping him throughout his career.

Things seem to be looking up for the twenty-five year-old Iowa native who started out the new year in a Polk county jail cell following charges of driving while intoxicated, eluding police, hit and run, and other traffic violations.
