The fighter formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver, now legally known as War Machine (6-2), has been arrested in Las Vegas, NV. Was he trying to carry out the presidential assassination he recently endorsed on Myspace? Did the SWAT team have to be called in to handle this violent free-speech patriot? No, rather he was put under citizen’s arrest on charges of misdemeanor battery according to initial reports.

Jay Rivera, a representative with the Public Information Office of the Metro Police Department, confirmed that Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver was arrested Saturday, February 8 at approximately 4 a.m. local time. According to Rivera, a citizen’s arrest was made of Koppenhaver on charges of misdemeanor battery.

It was later found out and reported by TMZ that the incident went down at Krave Nightclub, which is locally known as a ‘gay bar.’ Police told TMZ that club security was escorting War Machine out of the club when he alledgedly turned and started punching them. Krave security then put him under citizen’s arrest untill police could arrive.

Most MMA fans first came to know War Machine from his stint on The Ultimate Fighter season six. Following the show he had one UFC fight at UFC 84 where he was defeated by Yoshiyuki Yoshida by submission in under a minute. He was then fired by the UFC. He most recently signed with Bellator Fighting Championship but was also fired by them even before they held their first event.

What could possibly be next for the MMA fighter more known for his Myspace bulletins than his skills in the cage? We can only imagine.
