PRO MMA (http://promma.info) will be on a Strikeforce / Showtime conference call scheduled for later this morning, however reports have already surfaced that “The Legend”, former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, Frank Shamrock (23-9-2), is set to return to the cage against the Stockton bad boy, Nick Diaz (18-7), on April 11 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.

The 36 year-old Shamrock, lost his middleweight title to Cung Le (6-0) in March of 2008 when he suffered a broken arm and could not answer the fourth round bell. This will be “The Legend’s” first fight since losing his title to Le.

Although only 25 years of age, Nick Diaz, is a veteran and a near legend himself in the sport. His last bout was with EliteXC in July 2008 when he out-boxed Thomas “Wildman” Denny (26-18) with a second round TKO victory.

This fight will serve as headliner to Srikeforce’s April 11th event which will air live on Showtime as part of a new multi-fight deal aquired by the San Jose-based company after purchasing assets from EliteXC’s parent company, Pro Elite.

Josh Thomson (16-2) and Gilbert Melendez (14-2) have also been named as fighters who are to appear on the April 11th card, as well as a middleweight matchup between Scott Smith (14-5) and Benji Radach (19-4).
