Mixed-martial arts veteran, Jeff Monson is in the Davie County Jail in North Carolina on Monday on suspicion of an assault charge. It is a completely separate incident from his recent spray-painting episode that recently made the news.

Reports indicate that Monson was in jail Monday, January 19, on suspicion of “assault on a female and injury to real property.”

The thirty-seven year old grappling champion already had a warrant for his arrest in Olympia, Washington for first-degree malicious mischief for allegedly spray-painting an anarchist symbol and other messages on the State Capitol.

A girlfriend of Monson’s, who is a spokesmodel for a fight wear company, said he is in jail for trashing her home and grabbing her after an argument this past Saturday. She accused him of cheating on her as well as having two wives. “He’s being charged with domestic violence and damage to property because he destroyed my house,” the girlfriend said.

Apparently the girlfriend, after investigating Monson’s cell phone, threw it out of the car window when she discovered he had allegedly been romantically linked to other women. Once Monson found out what happened to his phone, she says that is when he became angry.

This is definitely not a good way to start the year for Jeff Monson. There had been rumors he may come back to the UFC but if he keeps going at this pace he may not even see daylight until he’s a senior citizen.

Monson’s most recent MMA fight was a victory over Ricco Rodriguez back in December at the Mixed Fighting Alliance in Miami.
