In a recent interview with a Croatian newspaper, the PRIDE FC and UFC veteran mentioned he would like to fight one more time in the UFC.

“I believe that during 2009 I will fight three more times for Dream, then I hope for a farewell fight in the UFC.”

Retirement has been a hot topic for Cro Cop since 2006. Prior to the start of PRIDE FC’s 2006 Open Weight Grand Prix, the Croatian stated he would retire if he did not win the tournament.

After losing to Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 70, Filipovic expressed his desire to retire after his UFC contract ran up.

Following his defeat of Choi, Cro Cop told the Dynamite!! crowd that he would be taking six months of for knee surgery. It will be interesting to see whether or not Cro Cop will be able to secure four fights in 2009 or even be physically able to do so in six months.
