Muhammed Lawal, better known to MMA fans as “King Mo” has received an opponent for World Victory Road’s “Sengoku 7” set to take place on January 4, 2009 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

King Mo is 2-0 in professional MMA competition. The collegiate wrestling superstar stepped into the MMA ring for the first time back in September against the highly experienced Travis Wiuff at Sengoku 5. Mo quickly defeated Wiuff with a first round TKO in a light heavyweight matchup.

Five weeks later King Mo was back in the ring at Sengoku 6, this time at a middleweight 185 lbs. taking on Chute Boxe’s Fabio Silva. Once again Mo proved he was more than just a wrestler with a third round TKO over Silva.

Sure to be wearing his crown and flocked by his harem of young ladies, King Mo will be dancing his way back into the Sengoku ring on January fourth to face the 15-4-2 Yukiya Naito. It’s a good thing wrestlers are accustmed to dealing with weight issues because Sengoku has Mo moving back up to light heavyweight for this bout.

Yukiya Naito is a dangerous opponent for anyone. He is on a six fight win streak and is 9-1 in his last 10 bouts. Naito last fought just 9 days ago at DEEP 39 where he made short work of Yuta Watanabe by TKO early in round one.

Keep an eye on Muhammed Lawal. He is a perfect candidate for the UFC. With a bit more MMA expereience, a few more wins under his belt and once his Sengoku contract is up, we could very well see the King looking to test his skills in The Octagon.

Sengoku has been putting on some impressive cards and with a ton of big names and two title fights, this one is shaping up to be one of their best yet. Other notable names to look for on this card are Takanori Gomi, Kazuo Misaki, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, undefeated Dave “Pee-Wee” Herman and Hidehiko Yoshida to name a few.
