Gameness Fighting Championship comes to the Nashville Fairgrounds Sports Arena on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7pm CST.

Finally, legitimate Mixed Martial Arts Cage Fighting comes to Nashville, Tennessee. Hosted by Ed Clay of Nashville MMA and Gameness, this event is guaranteed to be a high quality, action packed spectacle.

With over ten fights and eight of Ed Clay’s fighters on the card, there’s bound to be some great performances.

There have been a few amateur MMA shows around the Middle Tennessee area recently that have received some criticism for their lack of talent. That’s something people won’t have to worry about with this card.

To purchase tickets, please call 615-777-9350 or stop by the Nashville MMA Gym.

  1. Really??? Nashville MMA validates Mixed Martial Arts in Nashville or in Ed Clay’s words, makes it “legitimate”…funny…I thought Nashville would raise the bar a little higher than that.

  2. Paul, you obviously didn’t plan to see the fights, and you missed out. Amazing performances, great submissions, and outstanding knockouts. The quality and excitement factor of the fights last night was better than I’ve seen on several big UFC nights. Your comment just makes you sound like a hater, maybe someone who couldn’t cut it at Ed’s gym…

  3. Ryan, you must be Ed’s brother. I was at this event and yes it was good, but not UFC good. It was amateurs!! oh..I forgot they had some pro fights…was that legal?? I’ve been to every event in Nashville and every event had people that shouldn’t be in the ring, again its amateurs. This card had pro fighters, it should of been one hell of a show, but was it? I respect every fighter that gets in the ring, even if they don’t need to be there. Its all about the respect!

Umm. That makes no sense. Nashville MMA has real MMA. Kung fu people trying to do MMA don’t. Our track record in competition and world class fighters I’ve trained pretty much makes us legitimate.

I know this makes people mad as they’ve been training in forms of martial arts that will not help them at all in a cage fight, but it is the truth.

Hell, one of the partners on the wild horse event said that our first fight of the night was better than there whole card combined. That’s a pretty strong statement.

If the guys are drinking the coolaide and really believe we’re not legitimate, maybe our gyms should just fight. I’m down with doing it.

Tim is my brother, not Ryan. Not sure who Ryan is. The pros were exhibition matches and were not paid. Don’t know why you would question how good of a show it was. It was the best am show I’ve been to by far. A lot of our am’s could go pro right now and do well. I’d rather hold them as ams and let the get experience, just like the other real MMA schools that came in. They’ve all been around the MMA business for a long time and no what’s up, unlike most people in middle tn.

I agree about the respect thing. I respect any fighter that steps into the cage. I just think the promoter should not allow someone to fight that’s not skilled…

Lastly to clarify, I’m not the promoter. I’m licensing the name Gameness out and having my guys fight on the card.

  5. paul you have a big mouth behind a computer screen. I challange you to come to our gym participate in our training, I doubt you could hang. Our school is by far the best in the area and the state. The NMMA fighters records speak for themselves.

  6. Mike, Thanks for the invite, I do like a challenge, so I think I will take my training to one of those Kung Fu schools Ed talks about. If I remember right the sport side of Kung Fu is San Shou and I think Cung Lee is undefeated in MMA and comes from a San Shou background. I will take it a step further and say he is undefeated in all combative sports he has competed in!! His last fight he dominate a submission specialist and shattered his arm from strikes, and Frank was not a chump!!! So Ed, I would say “Jujitsu will get you killed!!!”

  7. Paul you have to remember Cung was fighting Frank Shamrock, a “submission specialist” WHO DID NOT TRY TO TAKE HIM DOWN OR USE ANY SUBMISSIONS NOT ONE TIME AND STILL CAME CLOSE using Cung’s own game, pure stand up. Allso you have to remember Cung is the EXCEPTION not the rule. Cung has been doing San Shou most of his life and it works fairly well for him against the people he has faced but if you put him against a wrestler or jui jitsu player who can shoot in and take him down it’s all over.

  8. Paul once again all you have done is talk shit behind the computer. Come down to nashville mma and step inside the cage with any of our AM fighters. As for Cung, that is one fighter that has been very succesful with that background. Look at 90% of the greats that are in the UFC, they all train Jiu-Jitsu… If you bring that kung fu shit to Nashville MMA you will get your ass beat

  9. The fights at GFC1 and GFC 2 were awesome. The production, atmosphere and feel were top notch. Anyone who watched both or one of the events and says otherwise, HAS AN ALTERIOR MOTIVE! The whole comment about “they had pros, was that legal” lets me know that they are some one in the business or martial arts world, who wants to sling mud on GFC for whatever reason. If you are into other art forms, or are trying to start another promotion, then do the best you can to make what you do the best.

I have been to wildhorse, limelight, and GFC to watch MMA in Nashville. It is comparing a local “toughman” to real MMA.

GFC is going into its 3rd show and I assure you they will be improving, growing with every event.
