Maximum Fighting Championship’s MFC 19: Long Time Coming went down tonight at the River Cree Resort & Casino in Alberta, Canada. Here are fight-by-fight results and summary.

Aron Lofton vs. Jason Kuchera (LHW)
Rd.1 – In just 44 seconds of round one Aron Lofton sinks in the guillotine choke from the standing position, forcing Kurchera to tap out.
Aron Lofton defeats Jason Kuchera by submission (guillotine) in Rd.1

Colby Snyder vs. Josh Russell (LW)
Russell is Jason MacDonald’s jiu-jitsu coach.
Rd.1 – Russell gets the takedown early in the round and takes Snyder’s back, methodically sinks in the rear naked choke and Snyder is forced to tap.
Josh Russell defeats Colby Snyder by submission (rear naked choke) in Rd.1

Mike Sorensen vs. Ryan Machan (165 lb. catch weight)
Rd.1 – Ryan Machan gets a takedown about a minute in. And for about four minutes he attempts to get a rear naked choke on Mike Sorenson. With less than five seconds left he wears Sorenson out and can no longer defend the choke.
Ryan Machan defeats Mike Sorenson by submission (rear naked choke) in Rd.1 This is Ryan Machan’s sixth victory in a row that has not got out of round one.

Kyle Sanford vs. Joey Gorczynski (MW)
Rd.1 – Gorczynski took the fight down early but Sanford does a great job of reversing and taking Gorczynski’s back and almost gets a choke.
Rd.2 – Gorczynski was the aggressor the entire round. Nothing too significant landing but Gorczynski definitely controlled the round.
Rd.3 – Gorczynski controlled most of the round until about the last minute when he turtled up and simply allowed Sanford to take his back and pound away at the side of his head as he waited for time to expire.
Kyle Sanford defeats Joey Gorczynski by split decision This is a VERY CONTROVERSIAL decision. Hardly anyone including myself gave the fight to Sanford. However, the way Gorczynksi just turtled up at the end an allowed the clock to run out to coast in for a victory backfired and probably cost him the fight. This reminded me of a PRIDE rules decision considering Sanford finished the fight much stronger than his opponent.

Derrick Noble vs. Ariel Sexton (LW)
Rd.1 – Noble lands some huge shots and Sexton is rocked. Sexton hangs in there and makes it through the round.
Rd.2 – Sexton lands a big body shot that sets up a takedown. Noble invites the takedown jumping guard; Sexton keeps his head down and Noble puts him right in a guillotine and taps him out.
Derrick “The Eraser” Noble defeats Ariel Sexton by submission (guillotine choke) in Rd.2 This fight is definitely a candidate for Fight of the Night.

John Alessio vs. Paul Daley (174 lb. catch weight)
Alessio is coming out of the Xtreme Couture camp. Daley came in four pounds overweight and Alessio has voiced his displeasure and called this unprofessional, which it is. This has created some bad blood between the fighters and has made it somewhat personal.
Rd.1 – No touch of gloves. Alessio shoots in and eats a knee. Alessio looking for a takedown but Daley defends well, finally he gets it. Big kick by Daley and Daley shoots in and gets a big takedown.
Rd.2 – Alessio works hard for a takedown, gets it but Daley pops right up. Daley lands a couple of big punches. Daley feints and Alessio ducks down, then Daley throws a kick that lands flush with his knee to Alessio’s chin that drops Alessio. Alessio is done but Daley lands a couple of huge punches for good measure and the ref stops it. He hurt Alessio.
Paul “Semtex” Daley defeats John Alessio by TKO (strikes) in Rd.2 Daley says after the fight his next fight may be in Sengoku or possibly Affliction.

MFC Light Heavyweight Championship:
Roger Hollett vs. Emanuel Newton
Emanuel Newton hasn’t lost a fight in four years and has won eleven straight. Roger “The Hulk” Hollett is the MFC LHW Champion defending his title.
Rd.1 – Hollet was extremely calm. Nothing significant landed by either fighter. Hollet landed a good leg kick.
Rd.2 – Newton gets Hollet down and to his back and lands some ground and pound.
Rd.3 – Newton pressed the action and Hollett fought defensively the whole round. Boos ensued from the crowd as Hollett looked very stoic and not active at all.
Rd.4 – Newton got the takedown and landed some ground and pound. Hollet does little
Rd.5 – Newton gets another takedown. Ref stands them up. Hollett had NO sense of urgency and threw only 65 punches the entire fight. He stalked around the ring with his head straight up like a zombie. He looked TERRIBLE and was just looking for the one big punch the whole night. Emanuel Newton out-worked Hollett by a mile.
Emanuel Newton defeats Roger Hollett by unanimous decision for the MFC LHW Champion (50-45, 50-45, 49-46) Newton seemed very disappointed in his performance because he didn’t finish his opponent.

undercard:
Mike Bruno vs. Kyle Dietz
Alain Hernandez vs. Gavin Neil
Ryan McGillivray vs. Elliot Duff
Nolan Clark vs. Jesse Clarke
