Kimbo Slice’s next public appearance will be at the K-1 World GP 2008 Final on December 6 in Japan, but not in the ring.

No, he won’t be fighting. Instead, it is said he will be commentating on the event alongside Kogan, Michael Schiavello and Ernesto Hoost.

Most people would not immediately associate ringside commentating with the former Youtube streetfighter, Kimbo Slice. For one thing, it’s very questionable if he would even know what all the moves and techniques are called that the fighters will be using.

Two reports have recently surfaced regarding Slice and his fighting future. One report stated he would be fighting K-1 Heavyweight Champion Badr Hari in March of 2009 and the other has mentioned a possible rematch with Seth Petruzelli at the “Dynamite!! 2008” New Year’s Eve event.

K-1 having Kimbo as guest commentator is likely their way of introducing the Japanese fans to this highly colorful figure for the very first time. Japan is the most logical choice as a place where Kimbo can try to continue his career in combat sports. Clearly, MMA fans in the U.S. have had their fill of Kimbo Slice and with the controversy surrounding his last fight with Petruzelli, a bad taste has been left in our mouths indefinitely.

The K-1 WORLD GP 2008 FINAL airs live from Yokohama, Japan on December 5th on HDNet at 3:00 AM EST / 12:00 PM PST.
